Bat test’s positive for rabies

This week, we submitted 7 bats for testing to the CT. state health lab in Rocky Hill.
One of those bats, taken from a building in North Branford came back positive for the rabies virus.
The Ct state health lab test’s bats, raccoons, skunks and other animals for the virus.  For many years, the lab was located in Hartford, next to the capitol, but is now in Rocky Hill at a new facility.  Click here to visit their page.

Information and understanding is a good thing, especially when rabies is involved.
